About Christmas at New Lanark

Join us at New Lanark World Heritage Site to enjoy a magical family day out this Christmas! We have two types of tickets available which are sold separately to allow you greater flexibility in planning your day with us. The two types of tickets are ‘Christmas at the Mills’ and our ‘Festive Pantomime’.

• Child (3-15) – Christmas at the Mills: £13.95
• Under 3s – Christmas at the Mills: £4.00
• Family (2 Adults + 2 Children) - Christmas at the Mills: £43.95
• Family (2 Adults + 3 Children) - Christmas at the Mills: £49.95
• Essential Carers – Free

‘Christmas at the Mills’ tickets DO NOT include the pantomime. This must be booked separately.

The Spirit of Christmas Ride
Take a magical journey into Christmas on our sparkling festive ride. Meet your guide, Holly, who is here to tell you all about Christmas past and present!

Santa's Grotto
Visit Santa in his cosy grotto and find out if you're on the naughty or nice list. Queues are expected at peak times. (Children will receive a small toy and book relevant to their age range)

Entry to all other areas of the New Lanark Visitor Attraction
Step back in time and see how people lived, learned and worked in the past. Including the Roof Garden, School for Children (where you can post your letter to Santa), Robert Owen's House, Millworkers' House and the Village Store. Entrance to the Interactive Gallery Soft Play Area is a separate charge paid on the day of your visit.

Festive Colouring-In, Sleigh Selfie & Letter to Santa
Children will receive a 'Festive Colouring-In' pack which includes a Christmas card template and a Festive Mask template which they can either take home, or complete at New Lanark. If completing at New Lanark, all colouring-in pencils and craft materials will be supplied for use on site - these are not to be taken away. Don't forget to take your Sleigh Selfie photos at our event reception and visit the School for Children to write and post your letter to Santa!

Festive Pantomime 'Beauty and the Beastie’


Our Christmas pantomime this year is brought to New Lanark by the Arkeen Theatre Company. The fun-filled pantomime for 2018 is Beauty and the Beastie. Children and adults alike will love this fun, Scottish twist on the classic fairytale!

• Adult Pantomime : £5.00
• Child (2-15) Pantomime: £5.00
• Under 2s Pantomime: Free
• Family (2 Adults + 2 Children) Pantomime: £17.00
• Family (2 Adults + 3 Children) Pantomime: £21.00
• Essential Carers Pantomime: Free

Pantomime tickets DO NOT include entry to the New Lanark Visitor Attraction or Santa’s Grotto. If you would like to visit Santa’s Grotto & the New Lanark Visitor Attraction you must purchase ‘Christmas at the Mills’ tickets.


New Lanark is managed by an Independent Scottish Charity, New Lanark Trust. By attending our Christmas Events you are helping New Lanark Trust continue to care for the historic village of New Lanark for future generations to enjoy. Thank you!

We are happy to accommodate groups of 20+ to our Christmas Events. If you would like to make a group booking for 20+ or require mobility access information our Bookings Team would be happy to assist you. Please contact them via trust@newlanark.org or 01555 661345. Office hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Christmas at New Lanark are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
