On August 12th South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture will host a morning of racing and family fun at Lanark Racecourse as part of this year's Lanark Trail Festival!

THE EVENTS:
10K trail run (16 yrs +)
5K trail run (under 8's accompanied by an adult)
1K kids fun run (5-12 years)
Junior Lanimer Cup Races 50-800m (under4's - 12year olds)
Junior Off-road duathlon (tri star starts - tri star 3)

RACE START TIMES:
5K start time: 09:30 (Warm Up 09:10)
10K start time: 10.15 (Warm Up 09:55)
1k start time: 11.15 (Warm Up 10:50)
Junior Lanimer Cup Races: 11.45
Junior Duathlon: 12:15

ENTRY FEES:
10K - £17.00
5K – £15.00 adult, £12.00 junior
1K - £5.00
Junior Lanimer Cup Races - FREE (to register for this event contact Lanark Lifestyles directly on 01555 666800 - race numbers for this event are collected on the day of event at the Racecourse)
Junior Duathlon - £15.00

REGISTRATION/ENTRY PACKS:
Your chipped race number will be available from 6th August 2018.
Runners will have 2 options:
1. Numbers can be collected from the reception at Lanark Lifestyles up to Friday 10th August or
2. Collect on race day from 08:30

COURSE DETAILS:
The 5 & 10K COURSE
The 5k course will start at Lanark Racecourse and head down towards Lanark Loch. From here runners will run a full loop of the loch then head back up towards the racecourse, before entering the racecourse runners will turn into the woods/cycle path for 3/4 of this route before re-joining the racecourse for a final lap.
The 10k route is a challenging double circuit of the 5k.
Course surfaces: Lanark loch - red gravel, Lanark racecourse - grass, woods/cycle route - trail

Junior 1K COURSE **New for 2018**
This course will be on the racecourse but will allow children to be timed whilst they race over the 1k flat, grass course. They will also recieve a medal & a t-shirt.

Junior Lanimer Cup Races (50m - 800m)
All on flat ground on the Racecourse just outside the pitches/rugby club house
50m - toddler dash, under 4's
100m - ages 4-6
200m - ages 7-8
400m - ages 9-10
800m - ages 11-12

Junior Duathlon
Tri starts (8 years), Tri Stars 1 (9-10 years), Tri Stars 2 (11-12 years) and Tri Stars 3 (13-14 years).
All age groups will use the racecourse for the run sections and then the wooded cycle route for a truly off-road experience! (off road bikes and helmets are essential)

PARTICIPANT GIFTS:
At the end of the events, participants will receive their unique Lanark themed medals and event t-shirts. Junior Lanimer Cup runners will receive a small momento.
There will be water refreshments, snack & fruit at the end for all runners.

PRIZES:
10k event - 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male and Female. The 1st placed male & female will be awarded the Edinburgh-Lanimer Cup & the Glasgow-Lanimer Cup.
5k event - 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male & Female
1k event - 1st, 2nd & 3rd Boy & Girl
800m children’s race - 1st male & female will be awarded the Junior Lanimer Cups
Junior Duathlon - 1st, 2nd & 3rd places boys & girls in each category.

TOILETS / CHANGING FACILITIES:
Toilets, changing & shower facilities are available within the football hut (additional portable toilets available at the rear)

BAG STORAGE:
Storage tags will be available from registration on the day.

PARKING:
Car parking facilities are available at the racecourse, the loch and at Lanark Auction Market.

WATER STATIONS / REFRESHMENTS:
There will be water stations around the course & every competitor will a bottle of water at the finish.

Their will be a catering company on site throughout the event.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Local sport clubs & SLLC co-ordinators will be running taster activities throughout the event.
