About Introduction to Spoon Carving

We are pleased to be offering this exciting Introduction to Spoon Carving event at Carmichael woodland on July 15th. This event is open to everybody with little or no previous experience at spoon carving.

During this session you will learn how to mark and axe out your spoon and then use a crook knife and whittling knife to finely tune your design.

Our tutor for the afternoon is Davy Coats, an experienced wood worker with many years of creating spoons and furniture behind him. On the day he will bring along some of his work for everyone to have a look at and then guide us all through the process of making their first spoon, which for many proves to be an enjoyable and relaxing experience.

The session will last 3 1/2 hours and warm drinks and refreshments will be provided around our warm campfire area where we will be working.

This session will be held at Carmichael Estate Woodland situated 5 miles from Biggar.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Introduction to Spoon Carving are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
