Bothwell Scarecrow Festival Comedy Night

About Bothwell Scarecrow Festival Comedy Night

A different line up on both evenings of 4 very talented comedians who are going to give you an evening full of laughter. Our MC for the night will be Scott Gibson. Sponsored by CUT

Glasgow born and bred Gibson smashed onto the stand-up scene in November 2010, quickly establishing himself on the circuit.

A storyteller at heart, Gibson mixes a conversational style with his own unique brand of dark humour. Confidently leading his audience down a path, few dare to tread. This ability to push boundaries and control any room he plays has found Scott in high demand.

Nominated for a Scottish Variety Award in 2014, along with a residency as Dead Sheep Comedy’s MC. (With Scott leading the Dead Sheep charge they would go on to win “Best Small Comedy Club” in Scotland at the 2015 Chortle Awards). This success continued with a place on the prestigious AAA showcase at the Pleasance Courtyard, as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2014.

Scott’s natural talent has seen him being handpicked to support some of the UK’s top comedians. These include Frankie Boyle, Tom Stade, Des Clarke, Gary Little, Kevin Bridges and Daniel Sloss to name a few.

After a Glasgow Comedy Festival debut in 2015 with his show “Life After Death”. Scott firmly established himself as the comic to watch in Scotland. Then in August 2016, Scott made his Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut with the same show. He would go on to shock the industry by winning the Best Newcomer Award. Making him the first Scottish Act in history to do so.

Described as “the best act to emerge from scotland in years”, who knows what is next for the Gibson.
