About The Thistle Crests Heraldic Carvings from The Chancery of the Order

By kind permission of Elizabeth Roads LVO, Secretary to the Order of the Thistle.

‘THE THISTLE CRESTS’ HERALDIC CARVINGS FROM The Court of the Lord Lyon.
Rarely seen carvings held at the Court of The Lord Lyon in Edinburgh.

Historic castles, houses and churches are rich in Heraldic decoration. Interest in Scottish history and ancestry over the years have made more and more people aware of Scotland's Heraldic tradition and practice.

The Heraldic authority of Scotland is vested by statute and ancient usage in the person of the Lord Lyon King of Arms.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for The Thistle Crests Heraldic Carvings from The Chancery of the Order are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
