Hello, my name is Naledi and I am a piano teacher based in the Southside, Glasgow. I have been teaching piano for nearly 8 years and have a background in live performance and composing/recording original music. I love my work as a teacher and have continued to study new and innovative teaching approaches, which I incorporate with traditional teaching methods in order to better serve my students.
I’m a relaxed and easy-going teacher and deliver enjoyable, educational and well-structured lessons to my students. Over the years I have taught a variety of students, ranging from complete beginners, to advanced players, self-taught pianists and students returning to piano from a break. Ultimately my goal is to help you become a more confident, well-rounded musician and to have fun doing it.
I like to work within the student’s interests so the genre(s) of music we study is completely up to you... Classical / Pop / Jazz / Blues / Traditional / Rock / Easy Listening etc. Lessons are very much tailored to your needs and centre around what will benefit you most, in terms of your musical development and your enjoyment of music.
I firmly believe that anyone can learn to play a musical instrument and that access to music tuition should be available to people of all ages, races, gender and socio-economic backgrounds.
Here are some of the areas we will cover in your lessons:
- Rhythm
- Playing technique
- Coordination
- Creativity
- Musical expression
- Music theory
- Sight reading

- Overcoming performance anxiety
and much more...
I can also help you to prepare for exams in piano, theory, national 4/5, higher, advanced higher, HNC/HND etc. Many of my students study with me for their ABRSM exams in particular and also higher and national 4/5 so I am very used to preparing students to succeed in their exams.

What my students say about their lessons:
“As an adult learner I hugely appreciate Naledi's approach. She is warm and encouraging and happy to discuss what I am finding tricky and happy to get really interested in how best to help. I don't feel as if she's just delivering a standard programme. Rather, it feels very much tailored to where I am at and where I want to be.” - M Elton, adult learner
“My 12 year old son is learning the piano with Naledi. He gets to choose what music he likes and Naledi finds the resources to match his interests. She uses his musical ear for sound and rhythm and blends it with learning formal music notation in a natural unforced way. She gets the balance between encouragement and spurring on to do more.” - C Urquhart, parent of a teenage student
“Naledi is a fantastic tutor who puts a lot of thought into what to learn and practise. She is patient and encouraging and puts you at ease. If you fancy learning piano or are looking for someone to teach your kids I couldn't recommend her any more highly.” - G Haddow, adult learner
