A brand new music and comedy festival is rocking into Glasgow this August. Magners Summer Nights and Magners Summer Comedy will take place at the refurbished Bandstand in Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow, from 7th-9th and 14th-16th August with a stunning line-up including Alison Moyet, The Waterboys, Steve Earle, Squeeze, Capercaillie and Glasgow’s very own Teenage Fanclub.
We've teamed up with Magners to offer 10 readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to see legendary band Capercaillie on Thursday 14th August.
Three groundbreaking decades after Capercaillie first performed as teenagers in their native Scottish Highlands; they continue the worldwide musical journey that’s taken them from the Brazilian rainforest to the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, not to mention into the pop charts – originally inspired by ancient Gaelic culture.
There’s also a host of comedians appearing across the festival including Frisky & Mannish, Jarred Christmas, Gamarjobat and Abandoman. Compered by Stephen K Amos, the comedy shows are being dubbed ‘Best of the Fest in the West’ as many of the acts are performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The comedy sessions will run from 1pm-3pm on Saturday 9th August and Saturday 16th August.
Magners Irish Cider is the UK’s favourite bottled apple cider brand, synonymous with spontaneous summer fun. The festival will feature the Magners Cider Garden incorporating premium street food with areas to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings with friends. Gates will open at 6pm each night, allowing the audience to enjoy this magnificent setting. Revellers will also be able to sample the Magners range and a magician will be there to dazzle with card tricks and sleights of hand.
Tickets to The Waterboys and Squeeze are sold out however there are still some tickets available for Magners Summer Nights which can be purchased from Ticketmaster.co.uk / 0844 844 044 or Glasgowconcerthalls.com / 0141 353 8000.
