The brainchild of award winning holiday park operator Argyll Holidays, the boutique festival will showcase the very best of Scottish musical talent over three days (11 to 13 May) for what will be a fantastic weekend for music lovers of all ages.
Over 50 acts will perform over the weekend with some of the country’s finest acoustic, contemporary, folk and traditional artists coming together for the festival. Set against the backdrop of Argyll’s breath-taking landscape, there will also be plenty of entertainment for little ones.
Over 200 tickets for Gig in the Goil have already sold, with organisers anticipating another sell out weekend. Festival headliners Skippinish will entertain the crowd on the Saturday night, bringing their unmistakable cotemporary Celtic sound to Argyll. On the back of a stand out 2017, ending with a sold-out gig at Glasgow’s iconic Barrowland Ballroom and being crowned ‘Live Act of 2017’ at the Scot Trad awards, the band are lined up to play an unmissable set.
Calum Gray, Event Co-ordinator at Argyll Holidays, said: “Gig in the Goil is a highlight of the summer for us here at Argyll Holidays, and after the success of the last two years we can’t wait to kick off the festival for 2018.
“It’s great to offer something a little different from the bigger, commercial festivals that dominate the summer months, and really showcase the immense talent we have right here in Scotland. Each year we’re able to invite more outstanding performers to our holiday park and the line-up for 2018 is superb.
“The acts will perform across the Main stage, Indie stage and Acoustic stage over the weekend, with our three unique venues catering to all music tastes. From intimate shows from singer/songwriters at our cosy Fireside Bar, to rip-roaring Scottish folk music guaranteed to get the crowd on their feet, Gig in the Goil has something for everyone.”
Making their return to Gig in the Goil and joining Skippinish over the weekend is popular six-piece Heron Valley, who will open the festival with an energetic set of traditional Scottish and Irish folk music. Eclectic Scots folk band Hò-rò – who recently won ‘Up and Coming Artist of the Year’ at the 2017 Scot Trad awards – will bring the event to a close on Sunday night.
For those looking to enjoy the festival in style, Argyll Holidays has a number of luxury hot tub lodges and caravans available over the weekend, with prices starting at £80. Guests will also be able to advantage of a number of Go Active outdoor activities over the weekend, with everything from archery to quad biking available.
