It’s Scotland’s largest gaming event, showcasing the latest games and biggest stars from across the industry.

This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever. If you want to know about the latest developments and test the newest games and tech’ before they have hit the shops, this is the place to be. And if you are looking for help or advice in following a career in one of Scotland’s fastest-growing industries, this could be the chance you have been waiting for.

It’s the dream weekend for any gamer – or parent or carer looking to get in their good books.

Here we look at 10 reasons why you won’t want to miss Resonate 2019.

1. Creators are coming to town
This year, Resonate is hosting its most impressive talent line-up yet, including some of the biggest names in gaming. Including viral sensations such as WillNE, Syndicate and Alfie Deyes, the star-studded roster will host exclusive meet and greets, take part in live stage performances and showcase their latest merchandise.

2. Big Betty is on the way
A 21 metre American style monster truck will be making its Scottish debut this weekend and provide the stunning stage for the final of Scotland’s Scottish Esports League Live. Not only will the HyperX Esports truck host the tournament but guests will be able to take part in live games on board the world’s first self-contained Esports facility, such as Super Smash Bros Rainbow Six Siege, CS:GO and Rocket League.

3. ‘The Dark Room’
Comedian, Mr John Robertson, will be bringing his interactive text-based gameshow ‘The Dark Room’* to Resonate and give participants the chance to win £1000. All you have to do is make your way out of the retro gaming nightmare unscathed to get your hands on the whopping cash prize!

4. Learn at the Career & Education Zone
If you or someone you know has ever fancied a career in gaming or in digital, Resonate is opening doors and providing priceless opportunities, check out the all-new Careers and Education Zone. Offering coding workshops and on-site advice, attendees can find out everything they need to know about kickstarting a career in one of Scotland’s thriving industries.

5. Play the Oculus Quest
Another new addition to Resonate this year is the Oculus Quest and Rift S virtual reality gaming headsets. You can try out the world’s most advanced PC-powered virtual-reality headset and take on VR’s best games with improved optics, tracking and ergonomics. Oculus is being described by some as the future of gaming – an all-in-one system for virtual reality that requires no wires and no PC, just the Oculus mobile app. This weekend visitors will be able to enter the chance to win an Oculus Rift S or Quest headset.

6. Unmissable main stage shows
From the Jungle Challenge where creators go head to head in live bush tucker trails to ‘How to be a YouTuber’ live Q&A panels, there are lot of exciting main stage shows going on over the weekend. This is one that aspiring vloggers will not want to miss and will feature favourite YouTube and social media stars, such as ImAllexx, Pyrocynical and iNabber.

7. Check out the Indie Zone
Try out some of the latest and rising gaming developers making waves in the gaming industry at the designated Indie Zone. Supporting the local talent, the area will showcase new releases from up and coming designers such as Robot Champions and Kung Fu Jesus.

8. Throw it back in the Retro Zone
Fancy a walk down memory lane? You can rediscover some old-school classics at the Retro Zone. Showcasing retro games and consoles, you can rekindle your love with some childhood favourites.

9. Let the wee ones take over the Kids’ Zone
Resonate isn’t only for adults, the Kids’ Zone will be home to games including Minecraft, Roblox, Mario Kart 8 and more, keeping the little ones entertained. Also popular with the young one’s is the phenomenon Fortnite, this will be available in the Battle Royal Zone along with Apex Legends.

10. Table Top gaming
Alongside video games, Resonate will also be showcasing the best and latest of table top gaming. Game publisher, Asmodee, will be heading to the show this weekend to demonstrate some of the best table tops games from around Europe.

Tickets are prices from £12.50 and are available to buy from www.resonatetotalgaming.com (online tickets are subject to booking fee) or buy on the door all weekend. Doors open from 10am – 6pm.

*The Dark Room is only open on Saturday evening and is for 16+. Separate tickets are required
