Come to Lanark this summer if you are brave enough! A host of fearsome dinosaurs will be on the loose. Your task? To find them ... before they find you!
This year's Jurassic Lanark is bigger and better than ever, with not one but two fantastic trails to follow - our traditional Monster Trail in Lanark town centre and Castlebank Park plus, new for '24, our Mini Trail of dinosaur shop windows.
Fabulous Free Family Trails
Take a walk in the footsteps of giants with our exciting FREE family trails. Over 20 giant dinosaurs are waiting for you to discover them as you follow the Monster Trail. Meanwhile, our new Mini Trail takes you around eleven of the town's shops in search of dinosaur clues. Complete one or both to claim your Jurassic Lanark Badge - proof that you are an intrepid dinosaur hunter!
Taking part is easy!
Free trail maps are available from Tolbooth Lanark on High Street in the heart of the town centre, open daily from 10am to 5pm. (Postcode ML11 7EX).
Dino-Mite Kids Fun Weekends
Our Park Rangers have lots of fun activities lined up on Saturdays and Sundays (11am to 3pm} outside the Horticultural Centre in Castlebank Park. Our baby dinosaurs Blue and Trixie have recently hatched and you can meet them up close. Don't worry, they don't bite! Fergus the TRex will also be putting in special appearances. Watch out, he doesn't bite either but he does roar! With storytelling and fun activity sheets to complete, kids will love our Dino-Mite Weekends and they are all FREE.
Meet the dinosaurs
Which dinosaurs will you meet on your trail of discovery? Some of the deadliest carnivores will be here including Tyrannosaurus Rex, Spinosaurus, Allosaursus, Dromaeosaurus and Velociraptor. There will be plenty of plant eaters too such as Brachioisaurus, Triceratops, and Stegosaurus. Much more friendly!
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
