Following the release of their already award-winning Dùn Cana Second Edition, we are delighted to welcome Iain from the Isle of Raasay Distillery for a free in-store tasting of their delicious drams!
The Isle of Raasay Distillery is the first legal whisky distillery on the stunning Hebridean island which is rooted in centuries of illicit distilling. The island is the ideal location to produce their signature, lightly peated single malt whisky.
Their signature Isle of Raasay Single Malt is lightly peated, balanced with rich dark fruit flavours. Matured in six signature casks as part of their unique six-part maturation, creating real depth and complexity.
Their Annual Distillery Special Release is a demonstration of their desire to push the boundaries of Raasay single malt flavour further and to give a taste of something different to their signature distillery style.
Raasay Distillery's Dùn Cana Sherry Quarter Cask Releases encompass the prowess of Raasay’s mighty volcanic mountain. 66 million years in the making.
Peated and unpeated spirit matured first in the strong foundations of American rye casks with a second maturation in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry quarter casks. This whisky exudes peppery spice, roasted nuts, sweet fruit and vanilla.
This is the second annual Dùn Cana release from the Isle of Raasay Distillery, with each edition offering slight points of difference in cask composition or age. This second edition brings even more depth and richness to the original expression.
As an extra treat, you'll also have the chance to sample the Isle of Raasay Gin, which combines ten carefully chosen botanicals, including Raasay juniper and their triple distilled spirit. This refreshingly zesty dry gin certainly captures the essence of the island!
Come along to find out more about the Raasay Distillery story, try their excellent spirits and pick up some great serve suggestions!
This is a free in-store tasting. No booking required.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
