Join Lauren & Louisina in their bright, flower filled studio while they walk you through their methods and materials in putting together a mixed foliage wreath on a willow base to adorn your doors this festive period. The perfect sustainable decor option for your home this winter!
Wreath-making is a beautiful and ancient winter tradition which began as a mark of respect for the plants and trees which are able to survive in the harshness of winter. Create your own wreath and enjoy this slow, medative and seasonal pursuit in the comfort of our bright and airy flower studio. We will provide you with demonstration, guidance and materials required to make a beautiful foliage wreath in the days of dahlia style. Participants will learn how to master the art of wreath making in our highly gestural, intricate, garden-inspired version of a traditional technique.
The class will include a demonstration and walk through on technique, how to construct the wreath base with moss and decorate it with the finest evergreen foliage and traditional and plastic free decorations. Each student will have an exciting and varied selection of our seasonal, farm-grown foliage to work with, vintage brass jingle bells and our own botanically dyed silk velvet ribbons. Wreaths will be constructed on our own crafted willow bases with the willow grown on our farm and the bases weaved by us especially for our students. We don't use floral foam or plastic in any of our work or teaching. Delicious refreshments will be served to keep the creativity and energy flowing. All refreshments, materials, foliages, and the use of aprons and sundries are included in the price of this workshop.
Our sustainable floristry workshops provide support and inspiration in developing your own floral style and encourages you to develop confidence and flair by slowly building your taste and experience. By allowing yourself to be attuned to nature and its imperfections, your floristry arrangements will in turn be more authentic and more beautiful. Foliage wreaths are not just for Christmas, they will dry over time and last for many years in their own unique and faded beauty. These items are made of 100% compostable ingredients and created using the finest seasonal materials harvested from our farm.
