In 2004 Paul achieved his Bronze Level in Guiding (Kenyan Park Services Guiding Association). He has led group tours and photographic safaris to several destinations but specialising in Kenya for the last 20 years.
Kenya will always be special to Paul; He has lived here for periods over the last 20 years. He has spent many days and months viewing some incredible wildlife and working tirelessly on capturing a unique portfolio of images. His favourite animals to photograph are lions and he has spent a lot of time with these incredible big cats.
Outside of Kenya his highlight is trekking for red pandas in the Indian Himalayas. He became one of the first photographers outside of India to capture these beautiful animals in the wild, in just over 10 days he was fortunate to have some incredible encounters and to capture some unique images.
Paul loves being outdoors and travelling with his camera. He has been fortunate enough to photograph a lot of amazing wildlife. Tigers in the Indian Forests, Gorillas in the Ugandan Mountain Forests, Cheetahs in Masai Mara, Caracal in Samburu, Polar Bears in Canada, Brown Bears in Finland, Asian Elephants in Corbett.
He also has some incredible destinations on his doorstep and try to spend as much time as possible photographing Red Deer, Red Squirrels and Pine Martins in the highlands, White Tailed Eagles and Otters on the Scottish Islands and Kingfishers and Grebes locally.
Paul is the author of the best-selling book the Ultimate Beginners Guide to Wildlife Photography – from taking a shot to capturing a moment. The book is a 436-page guide, full of tips, techniques and images and is a culmination of his photographic journey and learnings over the past 21 years. The book is available to purchase at the exhibition as a paperback and from Amazon in Paperback, Hardback or as a Kindle eBook.
