Eros Musical Society are delighted to present 9 to 5 The Musical, based on the motion picture of the same name, with fabulous music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, and book written by Patricia Resnick.
9 to 5 The Musical is a side-splitting, high-energy story of friendship and revenge.
Set in the chauvinist atmosphere of early 1970s America, the story centres on three female office workers; - Violet, the long-suffering office manager, continually passed by for promotion; Doralee, the boss’s secretary, who suffers unending propositioning, and Judy, who’s just started work after being jilted by her husband and is trying to find her way in this new environment.
Their mutual problem is Franklin Hart, the boss, with his never-ending sexist, egotistical, lying and hypocritical ways. The three women become friends, and during one eventful evening hilariously describe how they’d love to get their revenge on him.
Events then take a surprising twist.
Will Violet, Doralee and Judy win the day, and turn the tables on him? Or will Hart, their ever-sleazy boss carry on as before? You’ll have to watch to find out!
This production follows Eros’s extremely popular, sold out performances of the Sound of Music at East Kilbride Theatre in March 2023.
