Teams will compete to complete a series of clues and challenges, solving the riddles to progress throughout the church and complete the quest. As Hamilton’s second oldest building, the Old Parish easily lends itself to this type of story, with a number of key historic features used in telling the tale. Groups will have the opportunity to journey from one side of the churchyard, through the building, to the other, solving riddles and puzzles to allow them to progress each stage. Quickest team wins!
The spooky story, perfect for winter evenings, is that the ghost of the headless church officer cannot enter eternal rest until you complete the quest and set him free. Find clues along the way to point you to the final task. Challenges await you, using clues gained from the story and hidden along the way; to unlock doors, complete a series of tasks and progress through the building, understanding a little more of what happened to our poor, headless church officer…and how you can set him free. We need teams of courageous problem solvers to take on the challenge.
Hamilton Old Parish Minister, Revered Ross Blackman says, “I am delighted to see the church used to create an evening of entertainment for our local community. We have a truly beautiful building with many quirky features – and the opportunity for folks to discover a little more of this whilst enjoying an ever-popular escape room is great. All are welcome and we hope you enjoy this new experience.”
Refreshments, including wines, beer and hot snacks, will be available throughout the night. You can book a slot for a team of up to 8 players or register to join a team. Slots must be booked in advance and are available from 6.30pm onwards on Friday 9th February. The escape room will take up to 45 minutes to complete. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your slot. Tickets are £5 per person. Please contact 01698 281905 to book or email office@hamiltonold.co.uk
Please note this is a ghost story and there are some jump scares, so it may not suit younger children - please check with the office when booking.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
