Studio 32 was established in 1985 by two 16 year old schoolgirls from East Kilbride, desperate to participate in theatre. As the name suggests, original productions were limited to smaller studio style formats but as the club grew in numbers and ambition, musical theatre became a reality and in 1992 the club performed it's first production in the Village Theatre, East Kilbride, "The Matchgirls".
The opening of the East Kilbride Arts Centre in 1994 provided Studio 32 with another superb outlet for smaller scale productions and the club have performed more shows in the Arts Centre than any other company.
Today the club membership stands at over 60 and with one hundred and ten productions completed, Studio 32 continues to be one of the most productive amateur companies in the whole of Scotland.
We hold rehearsals up to three times a week with Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday being the appointed days. We also on occasion ask new members to audition so as to have a greater understanding of ability, this would be explained in advance.
