Festival goers will enjoy performances from over 50 artists across the event’s two stages, including the mighty Skerryvore, who will return to the festival for the first time since the first ever ButeFest in 2015. The renowned eight-piece has enjoyed a hugely successful journey since their inaugural ButeFest performance, with regular Radio 2 playlist slots and sold out shows across the world.

Legendary Scottish rock band Big Country are back for a second times to the festival and will showcase the very best of their back-catalogue; which spans over thirty years of making music.

Joining the ButeFest main stage this weekend are The LaFontaines. Selling out headline tours throughout the UK, the group will take over the Friday stage with their eclectic live performance.

Scottish singer-songwriter Connor Fyfe holds the record as the youngest ever artist to sell out Glasgow’s iconic King Tut’s. Three years on from this sell-out success at the launch of his debut album, the now 16 year old will make a welcome return to ButeFest this weekend.

As always there is an array of up-and-coming talent at this year’s festival, alongside a raft of homegrown talent. Scottish TikTok sensation Littlest Chicken and his band Tuath will showcase their unique rhythmic arrangements, demonstrating why his social media star continues to rise.

An 80s theme will also run throughout the weekend, with an 80s disco kicking off each night at 10pm and a fancy dress parade taking place on Saturday afternoon, offering a special prize for the best 80s outfit.

Greg Pegg, Chair of Bute Fest, said: “We cannot wait to welcome the fantastic artists and all the festival goers to our island. ButeFest has proven itself to be a cultural cornerstone of the Scottish summer music festival calendar and we are raring to go for 2023. We are certain that our three Scottish headliners will get the party started here in Ettrick Bay!”

Set against the stunning backdrop of Ettrick Bay, there will be entertainment for all ages with attendees having the opportunity to enjoy fringe activities such as circus acts, storytelling and shadow puppetry, offering entertainment for all ages.

There will also be an array of shows for young people, with Astral Circus and The Magic Lantern. Family-friendly yoga, an 80s disco and the Bute Bustle workshops will all also take place in and around the Vespertine Arena, an iconic focal point for all fringe activity.

Established in 2015, ButeFest has tripled its attendance numbers in its 8 years and will see roughly 2000 visitors passing the gates to the island festival. Rooted in the community, the festival is a flagship when it comes to teamwork and building a network of volunteers, who have gone on to further work in their field, through their experience at ButeFest.

Only a short 50 minute drive from Glasgow and a 35-minute ferry crossing away, The Isle of Bute is the most accessible Scottish island and the festival is a unique experience at the stunning Ettrick Bay with white sandy beaches and clear-blue water, where visitors can escape the busy city life.

With visitors flocking in from all parts of the country, Ettrick Bay is about to be full of music, friends and fun. There are still a number of ticket options available, ranging from Weekend to Individual Day Tickets and they can be purchased at www.butefest.co.uk
