The awards, which are designed to celebrate Scotland’s vibrant live music scene, have captured the attention of artists, fans, and those across the industry.
The Scottish Live Music Awards will shine a spotlight on the broad spectrum of live music across the country, with categories such as:
• Best Live Act
• Best Venue
• Newcomer of the Year
• Young Act of the Year
• Best Festival
Ross Coutts, from Xfire.Live, the company behind the awards, shared his excitement over the enthusiasm from Scotland’s live music community: “We've been looking for the best way to celebrate the diverse and exciting live music scene in Scotland, and we're delighted to introduce these awards. There are already a lot of excellent ceremonies which celebrate the calibre of live music here, but we felt there was a gap for something that purely focused on the live aspect and celebrated the incredibly strong scene we have here.
“The likes of the SAMA's, Na Trads, SAY Awards, Scottish Music Awards, and Weekender Awards do an incredible job of championing Scottish artists, and we feel we can help to continue embracing that, with the newly-launched SLMA’s offering a night to celebrate the live scene across the country.”
Nominations will remain open until midnight on Sunday, 22nd September. After this, all entries will be reviewed, and a longlist will be unveiled. Following a public vote via the SLMA website, shortlists will be announced for each category, with the final winners being selected by a panel of expert industry judges.
The awards ceremony will take place later in the year, with full details to be revealed soon on the Scottish Live Music Awards website and social media channels.
