Ahead of the upcoming launch of its new hotel and entertainment-led restaurant, five-star Scottish hotel Crossbasket Castle is calling on couples who have a memorable story to tell from the original Hamilton venue ‘The Trocadero’, which first opened in the 1950s.
Following a multi-million-pound development, Crossbasket Castle will welcome guests to experience the allure of its new hotel which sits within the grand estate of the historic castle, adding 40 luxury bedrooms alongside a brand-new entertainment-led dining experience, Trocadero’s, unmatched by anything else currently available in Scotland.
Named after the iconic 1950s dance hall in the local town of Hamilton, Trocadero’s will boast one of the most sophisticated live performance set-ups in Britain. The new restaurant will take inspiration from the original Hamilton venue and as referenced in a poem by Hugh Hainey for Historic Hamilton, Crossbasket Castle’s Trocadero’s will be the “greatest place to go, music, dancing, happiness, friends you got to know”.
Trocadero’s will transport guests to a captivating bygone era where they can enjoy top-tier live music, expertly crafted cocktails, and immersive dining experiences overseen by renowned Michelin Star Chef, Michel Roux.
The concept for the new restaurant has been designed to capture the essence of the original Trocadero venue, which was a renowned hotspot for blossoming romances. Now, as part of the launch, Crossbasket Castle wants to reconnect with the history of the local venue, which was closed in 1997, by hearing first-hand stories from couples or their families who have cherished memories from the venue in its heyday. The hotel is calling for couples to come forward and be part of the reimagining of the brand-new venue as it takes inspiration from its local roots.
Alison Reid-Timoney, owner of Crossbasket Castle said: “It’s important to us that the launch of Trocadero’s pays homage to the rich local history from which the concept of our new restaurant was born. We want to showcase the romance found from the original iconic venue as we build on its history and enter a new era at Crossbasket Castle.
“I have fond memories of hearing stories from my Mum telling me all about the music and dancing at the “Troc” with my Dad. These personal stories are an integral part of Trocadero’s legacy, and we are honoured to pay tribute to those moments while celebrating the unveiling of the brand-new modern restaurant that allows guests to indulge in pure nostalgia.”
Crossbasket Castle encourages anyone with memorable stories, and anyone with parents or grandparents who may have met or spent time at The Trocadero, to get in touch by email at crossbasketcastle@bigpartnership.co.uk
